The WiSys Entrepreneur Team will consist of three to four UW Oshkosh students committed to assisting in the development and expansion of WiSys owned Intellectual Property, selected by the Alta Resources Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation. The WiSys Entrepreneur Team will work towards successful IP Commercialization by working collaboratively with customers, mentors, faculty, economic development entities, and the business community. This position is a true startup experience focused on product development and sales.
The WiSys Entrepreneur Team is responsible for performing market research, managing product development, soliciting potential customers, formalizing a business entity, and eventually commercializing the selected intellectual property. Your end goal is to launch a startup company that maintains exclusive license to the product/service.
You will work weekly with your team, the staff at the CEI, faculty, and mentors as well as WiSys. This is a high level competitive position requiring students with perseverance, tenacity, an entrepreneurial spirit and the commitment to seize opportunity.
This position requires a one hour weekly meeting with the team/staff and an additional nine hours a week meeting assigned metrics/goals. The position also requires monthly reporting to WiSys. We anticipate this position to run through the summer of 2019 – unless the team secures revenue. Once revenue is generated, a startup company (with the WiSys Entrepreneur Team as founders) will be organized.
